Something weird happens.
I have 2 image files. Both are 794 x 1123 pixels. (Is that btw always the maximum size for images to span the entire page?)

when I insert image 1 in a PDF the entire page is covered.
when I insert image 2 in a PDF the image appears to be resized and covers about 1/8 of the page! Same code, just different images. Images are attached.

PDF files have no pixels. Default unit are points.

One of your images is marked as 96 dpi, the other as 300 dpi.
So one image is 1123/96 inches high (11.7"), the other 1123/300 inches (3.7").

You can blow a 32x32 pel image up to fill the whole page and you can draw a 3000x3000 pel image as a thumbnail.
Just specify the destination rectangle.
