Our production facility has received files with the blending mode "Source Over" with the PDF producer written as PDFsharp 1.51.5185-gdi

What is the standard definition of this blend mode? If it's equivalent to normal, why not use normal?

Maybe PDFsharp was just used to assemble PDF pages that were created in other apps.
No PDF file to look at. I have no idea what "blend mode" refers to.
