I use the latest version 1.32.2608.0 of PdfSharp-WPF.dll.
I have the same problem as described here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6602 ... ed-to-take.
It hangs at the call of PdfReader.Open(path). I have attached a file where this happens.

The file "o-neuro-untersuchung.decrypted.pdf" is not decrypted, it's corrupted (I guess some parts were decrypted while some remained unchanged (i.e. encrypted)). PDFsharp hangs while reading the keywords of the document.
Adobe Reader opens the file, but cannot show keywords either.

PDFsharp can open "o-neuro-untersuchung.pdf" - and Adobe Reader can show the keywords for this file.

PdfReader.Open(...) should not hang.
I will ask my boss what we can do about this problem.

Hi,

I have the same issue with the attached file when calling "PdfReader.Open(fileName, PdfDocumentOpenMode.ReadOnly)" to extract the keywords. Was there any solution found for this issue? If the reader is unable open the file for some reason, it would be great if it threw an exception instead of hanging.

I also use the version 1.32.2608.0 of PdfSharp-WPF.dll.

Thanks,

Another way to reproduce the issue is to simply create a text file (.txt) and change its extension to .pdf. It is obviously not a valid PDF file, but it would be great if PdfSharp threw an exception instead of hanging forever.
Thanks!
