I would ideally like to parse an existing PDF document and do a text replace over some placeholders in the text.

Is there a simple way of accessing the contents of the page as a string?

I have looked at other posts on this forum and people with similar questions do not appear to have found the answer.

I am not a PDF expert, from my glimpse into the code it would appear that all the page contents are encoded and therefore it is not as simple as reading out a string from the document.

However there must be some code somewhere that someone has written that would be of benefit to lots of people starting out with PDFSharp.

If I manage to crack this problem I will post my results here for other users.

Thanks

I haven't resolved this, I simply created a word document from the template and used another 3rd party PDF solution to convert this to PDF.

I then open the existing PDF and used PDFSharp to apply secuirty to this.
